Countable and Uncountable Nouns

Countable nouns
Most of nouns are countable. It means you can indicate a quantity of them in an easy way. These nouns can be used in singular, when we refer just to one element, or in plural, when we refer to two or more of them.
To form the plural of countable nouns, in general, we add “s”. When the noun ends in “ch, s, sh, o, x and z” we add “es” to form the plural. If the noun ends in consonant and “y”, we change “y” for “ies”.
Examples:

Plural

One chair

Three chairs

An orange

Twelve oranges

One box

Five boxes

A sandwich

Eighteen sandwiches

One candy

Ten candies

A cherry

Twenty cherries

One quiz

Nombres contables
La mayoría de los nombres en inglés son contables. Es decir se puede indicar una cantidad de ellos en forma sencilla. Estos nombres pueden usarse en singular, cuando nos referimos a un solo elemento, o en plural, cuando nos referimos a dos o más de ellos.
Para formar el plural de los nombres contables por lo general se le agrega una “s”. Cuando el nombre termina en “ch, s, sh, o, x y z” le añadimos “es” para formar el plural. Si termina en consonante e “y”, se cambia la “y” por “ies”.

  1. Ramos teacher.
I found very interesting about this new item:''countable and non-count nouns'' that almost all the names in English are countable, except the liquid, gaseous, abstract nouns and collective nouns, uncountable almost any name ending in ''s''

  3. Dear Professor:
this new item I found very interesting as it is about that most of the names are not accountants, we also learned that to form the plural nouns in general uses the "s" but when it ends in "ch, s, sh, or xyz "is added" is "to form the plural and when it ends in the consonant and" y "is changed and" y "to" ies "
